LIFECASTING

Lifecasting provides a physical reference to build on when developing custom makeup effects and prosthetics. While we mostly utilize 3D scanning/printing there is still a time and place to utilize lifecasting techniques.

We use lifecasting as part of the practical effects process when we are doing custom prosthetics that need to hold up to high-def closeups like character makeups. We also still use this method when we need to recreate high quality replicas of limbs or full bodies.

Lifecasting can be as quick as 10 minutes or as long as 2 hours depending on what part(s) and how much of the body is being lifecasted. General turnaround timeline from a lifecast can vary based on what the final piece needs to be.
